Recently I went on a brewery tour at the Red Squirrel Brewery in Potten End. It was a very enjoyable and informative tour and a fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
The tour lasted approximately 2 hours and covered the whole brewing process, as well as a bit of history about the brewing industry in general and how since a reform in the tax duty brought in by Gordon Brown under the last Labour government, there has been a boom in the micro-brewery scene in Great Britain. Which is no bad thing!
I tried Mister Squirrel, Black Lager, Milk Stout and Red Citra. All were very nice and had quite different tastes. My favourite was Mister Squirrel I have to say, hence I bought a mini keg (approx 9 pints).
Oh and whilst on the tour you get to sample 4 halves of their different beers. I'd highly recommend a visit, either on the tour or just to buy a few beers from their shop, they're not expensive and it's supporting a local business which is very important in my opinion.
Tours start at £10 per person which includes sampling 4 beers....a bargain I think you'll agree!

This is a recent family shot of my sister and her boy's. From the left is Joshua, Jacob, Mandie and Marcus.
Jacob is 15, Joshua and Marcus are twins (not identical) and 10 years old.
They're good boys and do make me laugh, all different characters too. Jacob is footy mad and likes anything techy. Joshua is a bit more serious and very observant. Marcus has a lovely friendly temperament, much more laid back and smiley.
